A Behavioural Education Initiative
Developing ACT-based skills training & related techniques
on Mindfulness-based interventions to support Families
Our team focuses on developing and delivering monthly training and workshops to support parents and families of individuals diagnosed autism spectrum disorder, chronic conditions, identified with exceptionalities in schools, and other life conditions using the ACT approach and technology in addressing broader range of behaviours related to anxiety, depression, pain and trauma and enact socially meaningful behaviour change.
The focus of Learning through ABA is to create an epistemology, and technical know-how application of ACT for parents and families, to describe states and feelings a person is in, as a 'self- in-context', in the present moment. This is possible by evaluating the challenging behaviours associated with these states and feelings, and resolve these through behaviour-analytic interventions, that can be empirically validated. Having a concrete form of measurement and data allows one to maintain the focus: values, what one cares about, and the commitment to action to support these values.
